About

Built from a pattern
that kept repeating.

Beata Okosun, PHRI, Founder of FormWork
Beata Okosun, PHRI
HR and Business Practitioner · Founder, FormWork
"Programme after programme, I watched founders show up with big visions, solid plans, and real determination. But when the conversation turned to HR, there was always that moment. A smile, a pause, a 'we are just a small team... still figuring that out.' Nobody was careless. They were just busy building, and HR never feels urgent enough until the day it does. FormWork was built for that gap, so the foundation catches up with the vision."

Beata Okosun is an HR and business practitioner and the founder of FormWork. As part of a consortium delivering capacity building programmes for small and growing businesses across West and Central Africa, she observed a pattern that kept recurring: founders building genuinely good businesses with little to no HR documentation in place.

It was not a lack of awareness. It was a lack of something practical, affordable, and built specifically for them. FormWork was built to fill that gap. A complete HR toolkit designed from Nigerian law upward, grounded in the real challenges these founders face.

The Regulatory Reality

Nigerian employment law
has changed. Significantly.

Three recent changes create specific obligations for every Nigerian employer. Here is what they are, what they require, and where to verify them.

NTA 2025
Nigeria Tax Act 2025
PAYE obligations changed on 1 January 2026
The Nigeria Tax Act 2025 introduced new tax bands, a ₦800,000 annual relief exemption, and updated employer deduction obligations. Payroll processes that have not been reviewed may no longer be compliant.
Penalty: 40% of undeclared amount
Read the legislation
NMWA 2024
National Minimum Wage Amendment Act 2024
Minimum wage increased 133% in May 2024
The National Minimum Wage Amendment Act 2024 raised the wage floor from ₦30,000 to ₦70,000, effective May 2024. Employment contracts that do not reflect this figure are non-compliant.
Penalty: Fine of up to 5% of monthly salary per affected employee
Federal Ministry of Labour
PRA 2014; Enforcement Active
Pension Reform Act 2014; PENCOM (Pension Commission) enforcement intensified 2024–25
Pension enforcement is active; not theoretical
The Pension Reform Act 2014 requires all employers with 3 or more staff to contribute to employee pension. The Pension Commission (PENCOM) recovered ₦972M from non-compliant employers in Q1 2025 alone.
Penalty: 2% per month on outstanding contributions

Common Questions

Before you buy.

Is this Nigerian law, or adapted from global templates?
Built from Nigerian law upward. Every document references the Labour Act, Nigeria Tax Act 2025 (NTA), Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA), Pension Reform Act 2014 (PRA), and the National Minimum Wage Amendment Act 2024 by name. The ₦70,000 minimum wage is in the contracts. The ₦800,000 NTA relief figure is in the payroll tool.
What format do I receive the documents in?
All 33 documents come as Word files (.docx), ready to edit in Microsoft Word or Google Docs. The spreadsheet tools come as Excel workbooks (.xlsx). Every document has highlighted fields that show you exactly what to fill in. Add your details and start using them the same day.
My business has more than 25 staff. Does this still work?
Yes. The toolkit works regardless of your team size. The documents are built to scale with your business.
Is this legal advice? Do I still need a lawyer?
FormWork is built by a certified HR and business practitioner, not a lawyer. The documents are professionally prepared and law-referenced, but are not a substitute for legal advice in complex or disputed situations. For commercial use, a one-time review by a Nigerian employment lawyer is recommended.
Can I upgrade from Starter to Growth later?
Yes. When you are ready to move to Growth, get in touch via email. Your Starter purchase is credited against the Growth fee. You should not pay twice for what you have already received.
What is the difference between Growth and Premium?
Growth is practitioner-led. Your current HR documentation is reviewed, gaps are identified, and you are guided through building your foundation. Premium is fully done for you; your entire HR infrastructure is built, branded, and delivered.
